Over the years, gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Patrick Muffley has earned numerous awards for his academic and professional performance. As an undergraduate at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, Dr. Patrick Muffley regularly made the Dean's List and held membership in both the Mortar Board National Honor Society and the Sigma Zeta National Science and Mathematics Honor Society. During this period, Dr. Patrick Muffley also received an Honors Scholarship and served as Chapter President of the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Health Preprofessional Honor Society in 1991.

As a graduate student at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Dr. Patrick Muffley wrote the primary care paper, "Myofascial Pain Syndrome: A Case Report," which earned honors as one of the top 10 student papers in the state of Ohio. A participant in the Naval Health Professions Scholarship Program, Dr. Patrick Muffley additionally gained entry to Sigma Sigma Phi National, the honorary osteopathic service fraternity of osteopathic medicine.

Upon graduation from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Patrick Muffley launched a career with the United States Navy and began an internship at its medical center in Portsmouth, Virginia. During this time, Dr. Patrick Muffley laid the foundations for his specialization in obstetrics and gynecology, ultimately gaining the award for Obstetrics and Gynecology Intern of the Year from 1997 to 1998. As his medical pursuits progressed, Dr. Patrick Muffley went on to win First Place in the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Research Competition (2000), First Runner-Up in the Navy Wide Research Competition (2001), and the Chairman's Award for the Best Scientific Paper on Gynecology from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Armed Forces District. Throughout his tenure in the Navy, Dr. Patrick Muffley received numerous commendations for Overseas Service, National Defense, NATO Service, and Joint Service, and won both the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
